Ready. Respond. Rescue.

Emergency Response Team Established in 2009

necfd_orig (1).png

The E.R. (Emergency Response) Team was established by ICAW to respond to disasters for both our kennel members and local rescues and shelters. The E.R. Team is ready at a moment's notice to assist at the scene of disaster...be it fire, flood or tornado. ICAW has provided crates of various sizes that have been distributed across the state.  Each Chapter has an ER Team which allows us to respond to anywhere in the state in approximately an hour or less. Our local veterinarians have been notified and they will be there to administer care and provide treatment as needed. We have contacted county officials, local fire chiefs, ambulance crews and police chiefs to make them aware of our program and to ensure their help to protect our animals, a rescue's animals, or a shelter's animals.  ICAW Members, local rescues, and shelters are encouraged to have a safety plan and an escape route posted in their facilities along with the contact information of their local E.R. Team.

We build relationships with our local fire chiefs, ambulance crews and police chiefs.

The Kennel Management Assistance program is a self-regulatory initiative aimed at educating and supporting ICAW members. It was established following a commitment made to Indiana state legislators in 2009 to eliminate substandard breeders from the state. We have seen great success and remain dedicated to continuing this important effort.

KMA EVALUATIONS ARE MANDATORY

FOR ALL ICAW MEMBERS
